'Art is a place where otherwise more or less unacceptable, even illegal acts are allowed and justified and it is preciselythis position of Shakespearean jester wich often enables it to criticize authority and the existing condition. At the same time this 'jester's alibi' hits the sore spot where art declares itself innocent, that is to say benign and insignificant. However, in an oppressive world where the possibilities of oppositional action are becoming more and morerestricted and where paranoid security regimes see and penalize terrorism wherever they wish, to refer to the innocence of art is a lie, the uttering of which needn't necessarily indicate weakness, but another oppositional tactics, which safeguards and builds upon an assembly of strategies created througout the history of art. These strategies strenghten those who belive in its importance and transformative potential, among whom Igor Grubić is, no doubt, unyielding.' (selection from text by Ivana Bago and Antonia Majača)
